Board level shielding cans are used to isolate sensitive components on a printed circuit board (PCB) and are essential to prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Board level shielding cans have many names – covers and lids, cages and cans, but they are basically a metal box which is attached to the PCB board to enclose circuitry and protect against EMI entering or leaving the protected area. Some board level shielding canss have holes in for thermal management, whilst still giving EMI protection. Cans can be produced with a solid top, or a removable lid which allows access to the components. Most designs can have internal dividers.
Standard sizes are available, but we can also offer multi cavity and custom sizes and shapes to satisfy specific customer specifications. Cans may also be supplied on tape and reel packaging.
